Kathmandu: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has given a seven-day ultimatum to remove the structures inside the Lalita Niwas complex. On the instructions of Balendra Shah, the mayor of the metropolis, the metropolitan police reached Lalita's residence and gave a seven-day ultimatum to remove the structures there.
Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Chief Raju Pandey said that the notification was delayed by giving seven days time. He said that as the municipality is responsible for the protection of public land, it has been instructed to remove the structures inside the land as per the directives of the metropolis and if they are violated, the metropolitan police will remove them. He said that the technical team of the metropolis is also preparing to surround the Lalita residence area.
About 25 small towers have been built on the land of Lalita Niwas and warehouses, shops, etc. are in operation.
