Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha Chhendu

Kathmandu: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayankaji Shrestha, who is on a five-day visit to China, has arrived in Chendu, the capital of China's Sichuan province.

He was received today at Tianfu International Airport in Chendu by Deputy Secretary General of Sichuan People's Government Xia Ofong and Nepali Consul General Dinesh Kumar Ghimire. Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha was welcomed by Chinese children at the airport.

Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha is scheduled to address the opening session of the West China International Fair as a special guest on Thursday, and in the afternoon, visit the planning exhibition hall of Chhendu and Sichuan city and observe the exhibition.

On Friday, he will meet with the leadership of Sichuan University and give a speech to the students studying there. On Saturday, Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha will visit Yindiyuko and Jiping hydro junctions that have been reconstructed after the earthquake.

He left for China on Tuesday leading a seven-member Nepalese delegation.
