Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that he has given the highest priority to the arts, literature and sports sector, targeting the all-round development of the youth.
Inaugurating the 3rd National Open Women's and Men's Boxing Tournament organized in memory of Prakash Dahal in Kathmandu on Sunday afternoon, Prime Minister Prachanda said that the development of the sports sector is linked to the prosperity of the nation and the future of the youth.
'As you have seen - this time I have given the most importance to the field of art-literature and sports. The development of sports is not only the physical and mental development of the youth, it has multifaceted importance. The sports sector has an important role for social unity and harmony, for the development of the economy, and for the promotion of tourism,' he said. I think The role you have played in establishing the boxing game is important. It has the support and cooperation of the government.'
Organizers said that the tournament, organized under the auspices of Nepal Boxing Association and a joint project of All Nepal Sports Association and Budhanilkanth Municipality, will last for four days.
