Kathmandu: Kathmandu District Court Judge said that it is uncomfortable to live under Chief Justice Harikrishna Karki. Shrikrishna Bhattarai has resigned from the post.
He resigned on Monday saying that the person who himself raised legal and ethical questions was the Chief Justice. He expressed dissatisfaction with the process of appointing judges, alleging that people from political parties are appointed to the Judicial Council.
He said that the future of judges is dark after the judicial council recruited political people to be judges in an opaque manner. He said that the parliamentary hearing committee itself is illegal and said that if the hearing committee is impartial, Karki cannot become the Chief Justice.
