Kathmandu: His wife Amrita and sister-in-law Jaya Singh, who died in a car accident along with the Minister of Internal Affairs and Law of Far West Province late Prithvi Bahadur Singh, were cremated today at Dungri Ghat in Chainpur, the headquarters of Bajhang.
The elder son Abhishek and the younger son Adesh lighted the body of the late Minister Singh around two o'clock in the afternoon. Before the funeral, a team of 30 people from the Nepal Police paid their last respects to the late Singh.
Five days ago, three people, including Minister Singh, died in a vehicle accident at Kedar Syun Rural Municipality-1 Juwali farm while going to Bajhang from Dhangadhi. His eldest son came from abroad and performed the last rites.
Before the cremation, the body of the late Minister Singh was kept at the Nepali Congress Party office in Chainpur. In the final tribute meeting held at the party office, Far West Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah, ministers, former ministers, Nepali Congress and leaders and workers of various parties, common people, well-wishers and relatives paid their respects by offering floral bouquets.
